The British Bridal Exhibition.

Geoff took the latest BellaDonna Collection and some of my latest gowns to the UK last week to show at the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate. Harrogate(for our non UK readers) is in the North East of England about 1/2 an hour from Leeds. A beautiful city originally put on the map as a Spa Town, it is now recognised as a major convention centre. This is a magnificent area to visit and I highly recommend it if you’re doing a tour of the UK and Ireland. For more details go to http://www.vrharrogate.co.uk/ . A visit to Betty’s tea house, home of the fabulous Taylors Teas, is a must http://www.bettys.co.uk/….. but Geoff had no time for sight seeing!!

I’ll let Geoff describe his trip –

The major wholesale show in the UK, The British Bridal Exhibition showcases the designs of some 250 plus exhibitors from Bridal Gowns and Bridesmaids to Veils and Headpieces and everything in between so is very competitive. We have just returned after a short break from the market due largely to a tough UK economy recently and the strength of the Australian Dollar, but we are back and the retailers are loving our gowns. Set up is on the Saturday and showing is Sunday to Tuesday. Here’s a few pics from set up with our UK agent and former show model Libby in the forefront….I was there and helping but someone had to take the photos!!

We were invited to showcase our Wendy Makin Collection at the Designer Preview Fashion Parades held on the Sunday with a Champagne reception at the show on the Monday. We rocked that catwalk, let me tell you I’m very happy with how Wendy’s gowns looked. A video of the parade was shot by one of our team and when that’s edited we’ll get it up on our youtube channel for you to see as well. In the meantime here’s a few photos from the parade.

I know I’m biased but don’t you think Willow just owns that finale!!

I had planned to take photos of all our stockists who came and visited us and ordered their new gowns but to be honest, we were so busy I didn’t get a chance. I managed to remember to take photos of only 2 of our stockists the whole time he was in the UK!! I promise to remember to get all of you next time to show the team back here in Australia so they can put faces to names.

Lovely to see Nick and Ruth from House of Capulet in Derby, pictured here with one of their team and Libby and Gemma, our new show model and to meet Jessica from Shades Apparel in Nottingham. I look forward to seeing our stockists again when I’m over in March. That will be from 10 to 12 March 2013….not that far away to be honest. See you all then.
