I love Hamilton Island and there are so many places there to have a Wedding. From the Chapel on the peak to Whitehaven, the Yacht Club to the Golf Club on Dent Island, all have magnificent views and make for magnificent photos. Then there is the huge choice in accomodation to suit all budgets. Tracey had her wedding on Hamilton and with family coming from the UK it was the perfect choice.
She sent us this beautiful letter and some terrific photos to share. Here’s what she had to say-
“To Wendy and the team,
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for my beautiful wedding dress (veil, bracelet, earrings and grooms tie). If you recall I actually purchased one of your sample dresses at a Bridal Fair in a hotel in the city. I had not meant to try dresses on that day but was looking for ideas for a dress that was light enough to wear on the beach but still bridal and classic. You suggested that I try on your magnolia Brodie dress in natural silk and as i did a tear came to my eye. (I only though that happened in the movies and that nobody could possibly cry from just trying on a dress). I made the purchase there and then and celebrated with a glass of champagne in the bar down stairs. I will admit though that afterwards when I got home I was angry with myself for purchasing the first gown that I had ever tried on and I fretted over the dress being possibly too plain and that I had maybe chosen the wrong colour (with the dress being magnolia) and why did I buy a sample dress, should I have bought new?
I needn’t have had any worries at all. During my appointments you filled me with confidence and made my dress look amasing. My mum lives in the UK and I was extremely worried that she wouldn’t like the dress and that she should have been there for the fittings. But you made me feel confident in my choices and you were right, when eventually she did see the dress it was a wonderful surprise and she loved it!
On my wedding day I felt comfortable, confident and beautiful. My favourite quote from a guest was ‘as you walked down the isle your dress made a beautiful swishing sound and you gave me goosebumps’. Despite the warm island weather I remained cool in my dress, it didn’t appear too traditional or formal for the beach yet i definitely looked like a bride and it was so easy to wear. The wind dropped just before the start of the ceremony so at the last minute my veil was added, which from your recommendation, matched perfectly. The little hook we added to the back of the gown ensured that at my reception the dress was bustled and I could dance the night away.
Since returning from the island I’ve been showing off my pictures, as has my mum in the UK, and the dress has been loved by everyone. It is stunning and timeless and I know my pictures will be adored always. My only disappointment is that I only get to wear it once!
Here are a few pictures of how your/my gorgeous dress looked at my evening beach wedding on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. Should you want any un-watermarked high res pictures to use as promo for your dress or anything else please do not hesitate to ask me I would be happy to help. (My gorgeous bridesmaid dresses were also from your BellaDonna store which did a fabulous job especially as I had one bridesmaid in Brisbane and two in different cities in the UK so thank you to the team there too).
She and her husband and friends sound like they had a great time on Hamilton Island. Many thanks Tracey for letting us share. By the way, we love Tracey’s belt. It just sets of her gown beautifully.
