We were on the search over the last couple of days for venues to do photo shoots in and around Melbourne. Our good friend Kirstie from Melbourne Bride was shooting at Overnewton Castle on Wednesday and we dropped some gowns off for that shoot and the venue is amazing. If you are after that very regal look for your wedding you cant go past it.
So many of our Melbourne Brides are now getting married in the Yarra Valley. It’s convenient to Melbourne yet has that destination feel that many are looking for. It’s also great for interstate our country guests because of it’s more laid back feel. A venue we really love is Chateau Yering. The venue, once again, has that olde world feel to it and has magnificent gardens including it’s National Trust Listed Chilean Wine Palm.
Next door to Chateau Yering is Yering Station winery. The restaurant here also caters for weddings. The building and the setting are just fantastic and the food is beautiful.
Not too far away from these venues is Mandala Winery. The grounds here are immaculate and the building is wonderfully modern but very welcoming.
Ferguson’s winery has the most gorgeous Chapel on the property as well as a function centre and Chalet style accommodation for you and your guests. This is a bit more of a rustic venue which, according to Queensland Bride – tinyurl.com/achkkdv, is the current hot trend in weddings for 2013.
The other venues we absolutely loved was Stones which one of our brides is having as her venue and absolutely raves about the service there.
I hope this has given you a few ideas for venues in and around Melbourne. There’s obviously many, many more but this might just get you thinking. Do keep in mind that your venue’s availability will determine the date of your wedding so get in as quickly as you can to secure your desired date.
